Verbatim is an on-device transcription app for iOS. All audio recording and transcription happens entirely on your iPhone using the Whisper model running locally. We operate no servers, collect no analytics, and have no way to access your recordings or transcripts.
The following data never leaves your iPhone. It is stored locally and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
Deleting the app deletes this data. You can also delete all recordings and transcripts from Settings inside the app with one tap.
Verbatim requests microphone access solely to record audio when you tap the record button. Audio is processed on-device and is never uploaded.
Verbatim Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not see or store your payment information. Purchase status is verified on-device using Apple's StoreKit.
Verbatim is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because the app transmits no data off-device.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a revised date.
